This site is built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as closely as we can. That includes readable colour contrast, text that scales, meaningful alternative text on photographs, keyboard-reachable navigation, and motion that respects your system's reduced-motion setting.

Accessibility is not a one-off task. If you hit something on this site that does not work for you, please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to fix it.

We would rather be honest than optimistic here. Shafter is a historic mining town under restoration in remote country. Ground is uneven, some buildings are original and predate any accessibility standard, and there is no staff on site to assist.
